MOTHERS DAY NEAR AND FAR

On Mothers Day we honored moms with a time of testimonies about mothers as well as a special breakfast prepared by the men and children.

During the morning worship the Annual Mothers Awards went out for the most Most Expectant Mom, Most Rookie Mom (With the newest baby), Most Kids Mom, Most Entertaining Mom (Most toys in her purse), Most Grand Mom, Most Disciplined Mom (Something in her purse to keep kids in line), and Most Distant Mom (Came the farthest) who was Maria Sagadevya who came 8,000 miles.

Maria is the mother of two and grandmother of three. Her daughter is Christina Suko. Maria is from Cherkassy, Ukraine and has been visiting her daughter and grandchildren here. Maria brought greetings from her church in Ukraine which DBC has partnered in ministry with. She described how women celebrated International Womens Day which came as a result of the 1917 revolution. Now they celebrate Mothers Day more like we do. She described the various church ministries to women that are now available. She also gave a testimony of how God is working in their Gospel House Baptist Church which started after the fall of communism and has now grown to over 350
