Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, David's life has been a journey filled with grace, faith, and the love of our Lord.
From an early age, David was immersed in a Christian home where the values of discipline, obedience, and the gospel of Jesus Christ were instilled in him. His early days at Westgate Baptist Church left an indelible mark on his heart, and he can still recall Psalm 119:9, a verse that guided him through his life's twists and turns: "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word."
As with many of us, David faced moments of doubt and strayed from the path of faith during his teenage years. However, during this time, he crossed paths with the love of his life, Jane. In 1989, they embarked on a journey together, united in marriage and raised their two wonderful daughters, Kristina, and Katie.
During their daughters' formative years, David and Jane felt the gentle urging of God in their hearts. They realized that if they were not going to live wholly for Him, they must, at the very least, guide their girls toward the Church and let them discover their own faith journey. God never gave up on them, and their obedience taking their children to church led to a commitment of their faith, infused with the mercy and grace of our Lord.
During the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, God brought David and Jane to Discovery Baptist Church. They are excited to see how God will continue to lead them in the time that remains in this life. Wherever God places them, their intention is clear – to uplift His great name and His Church and to live in His presence forever.
David and Jane's story is a testament to the power of grace, faith, and the transformative love of our Lord. Their desire is to be a blessing to others and enrich Discovery Baptist Church's life as their journey of faith continues, and their hearts are open to the wonders God has in store for them.
