The Discipleship Institute (DI) is designed to aid and equip God’s people to effectively use their lives to honor and serve Christ in today's world.
DI runs once in the spring and once in the fall. It takes place on Sunday evenings from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. with a short break each evening to allow for fellowship, food and informal discussion. Classes go for four weeks, take a one week break and then repeat for four more weeks.
Cost: Free!
Nursery and children’s program available
Spring Session: Starts four weeks before Easter
Fall Session: Starts mid September
(Check the church calendar for the dates of the next DI)
Each class is taught by a qualified teacher from DBC. Discovery Land for kids also runs during the same time to provide a meaningful activity and training time for smaller children. All classes are free. In some cases there are materials that may be offered for you to purchase.

Growing
Kids God's Way (Part 2)

Teacher:
Pastor Mark Suko
|
|
Our children are a gift from God yet we soon
find they have a sin nature and that raising
them to have a heart for God is not easy and
many turn away from the things of God.
Growing Kids God’s Way (GKGW) is a
comprehensive values-based curriculum for
parents primarily for grade school aged
children. The video aspect puts emphasis on
the Scripture as the basis for understanding
God's character and apply it to children’s
lives. We will point out the strong or weak
points of the material. There will be ample
time for discussion. A work book is
available at
www.gfi.org for $17.95 if you want to
order. You need not have taken part 1 to be
in part 2 which will take the full 8 weeks.
Pastor Mark and his wife Nancy who eight
children and ten grandchildren. They have
taught this and other parenting courses for
over twelve years.

Rapture
Views

Teacher:
Tim Arsenault

What do you believe about Christ's return?
Some believe Jesus could rapture the Church
at any moment; others say He won't until the
middle of the seven year period; still
others place the Rapture at the end of the
70th week of Daniel. Are any of them right-
or does the Bible teach something else? For
that answer and an interesting discussion
you'll need to come to the class. The class
goes for four weeks and then repeats.

Gospel
of John
|
|
Teacher:
Rev. Jim
Berry
|
|
John is the probably the first book that
every believer should read because it
presents a plain picture of Christ’s
ministry and salvation. We will cover five
chapters a week. You are encouraged to read
through those chapters five times during the
week preceding the class. We will be
utilizing a discussion format to answer
questions that come up in reading so bring
your questions. There will be handout
material as well. It is Jim’s prayer that
those in the class will affirm, reaffirm, or
solidify their personal relationship with
JESUS AS LORD. The class goes for four weeks
and then repeats. Pastor Jim is new to our
church but has pastured for 30 years in
Southern California.
