Enriko & Alisa Stigter
DEACON - YOUTH LEADER
Enriko was born in the Netherlands and lived there until he was 18. His family attended the Dutch Reformed Church, but it wasn’t until he was 18 that he realized he was a sinner and needed to believe in and surrender his life to Jesus. After he did so, he found out about the ship’s ministry of Operation Mobilization and joined this missions organization. It was on this ship that he met Alisa, who is now his wife and who grew up in Gig Harbor.
After three years on the ship Enriko moved to Singapore to complete a four year Bachelor degree in Theology at Singapore Bible College. During this time Enriko and Alisa were in a long distance relationship for three years, until they got married before Enriko started his fourth year. While in Singapore they were involved with an international church, where they led the youth ministry, small group ministry, and music ministry.
After completing Bible College, they moved to Langley, BC, Canada, where Enriko completed an MA in applied linguistics. When the studies in Canada were finished, they moved to Gig Harbor, where they were involved with a church in Tacoma and a church plant in Gig Harbor before joining Discovery Baptist Church. They started leading the youth ministry at DBC in January 2017. They are also involved in teaching Sunday School and the music ministry. Enriko and Alisa love serving God and His Church, and are very excited about teaching His Word to and mentoring the young people at Discovery. They have two little girls, Lia and Hailey.
