Loren Beckner
DEACON - Treasurer
Loren grew up in Gig Harbor and currently resides in Port Orchard. From an early age, Loren accepted Jesus as Lord and believed the Gospel. During his teen years, God was really moving in his heart. A passion for Jesus became more infused in his life, becoming active when it previously was more passive. He became more involved with youth group, bible studies, and personal discipleship. Reading God's Word was more of a priority and learning theology became a joy (Psalm 119:9-16). During this time, Loren was attending a Pentecostal Church with his parents. But at 20, after much though and prayer, he decided to look for another church due to some theological concerns. After a few years of attending local churches in Gig Harbor, Loren came across Discovery Baptist Church. The faithful preaching of God’s Word and warm fellowship felt like a great fit. It didn’t take long to figure out this was the place he could call home.
Loren graduated from the University of Washington Tacoma in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Since late 2016, he has been working for a CPA firm in downtown Gig Harbor. In 2018, he obtained his Certified Public Accounting license.
Loren currently serves as a deacon. He started his role as treasurer in 2023. He also helps out in the sound desk during morning worship and assists in the development of the Young Adult Ministry.
