God's power

THE GOD OF AWE

The past few days have found me spending a lot of time looking out the windows of our house. Of course, I enjoyed a number of good walks with my husband in the beautiful snow as well. Both settings caused a lot of “awww” both verbally and mentally. One thing that impressed me during this historic snowstorm was how only God can cause such an event. No person, no matter how rich, powerful, or clever, can ever do anything remotely as amazing as what God does when it snows. But wait, God continually does awesome things all around us that generally do not result in Him getting the credit that He alone deserves. Now I’m putting on your shoulders the task of meditating on this thought and then giving me feedback as to what we are not praising God for when we should be doing just that. Hint—I’m pretty sure the list is endless :)

The weather forecast for this coming Wednesday night is for freezing temperatures which will mean a good possibility of ice on the roads for Thursday morning. I’m thinking we should all stay home where we are safe until the roads merit being out again that early in the morning. So, no Bible Study this Thursday morning. But, continue to study Psalm 66 and glean all you can about large praise toward God.

Let’s plan for a great day on Sunday as we begin a valuable series on the reliability of the Bible titled “The God Who Speaks” during the 9:15 class time. At 10 we will break for a Valentine fellowship (bring along goodies you would like to share) and then a beautiful time of worship at 10:30.
